Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026. By creating an account or sitting an examination, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
Engineering Management Academy (“EMA”, “the Academy”) provides capability-based certification for engineering management: scheduled examinations, scoring, credential issuance, and public credential verification. The Academy does not provide training, coaching, or examination preparation.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate identity information — the name on your account is the name printed on any credential you earn. You are responsible for activity under your account. Creating multiple accounts to gain additional examination attempts is prohibited.
3. Examination conduct
- Examinations must be completed individually, without assistance from any person or tool.
- Examination content is confidential. Copying, photographing, sharing, or soliciting examination questions is prohibited.
- Sitting an examination on behalf of another person, or having another person sit for you, is prohibited.
- Scheduled sittings are subject to the published examination window rules on the Certification Standards page.
Violation of these rules may result in invalidation of results, revocation of credentials, and suspension of your account.
4. Credentials
Credentials are issued upon passing the relevant examination and remain valid for three years from issuance. A credential certifies that the holder met the published standard at the time of examination — it is not a guarantee of job performance. The Academy may suspend or revoke a credential obtained or used fraudulently; status changes are reflected in public verification.
You may state and display your credential in CVs, profiles, and professional materials for as long as it is valid. You may not alter the certificate document or misrepresent the tier, dates, or status of a credential.
5. Verification
Credential verification is provided publicly so third parties can rely on the credential. You acknowledge that anyone with your credential ID can view the holder name, certification, dates, and status, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Fees
EMA-I is currently offered free of charge for a limited time. Fees for future examinations or recertification, if introduced, will be published before they apply. Fees are non-refundable once an examination has been started, except where required by law.
7. Acceptable use
You may not interfere with the platform’s operation, attempt to access other users’ data, probe or circumvent security controls, or use automated means to scrape content other than the public verification endpoint used as intended.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Academy disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including hiring or employment decisions made by third parties in reliance on a credential. The Academy’s total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Changes & termination
We may update these terms as the platform evolves; material changes will be communicated to account holders by email and apply prospectively. You may close your account at any time; certification records are retained as described in the Privacy Policy to preserve credential verification.
